Sanitarium's Question
Are there hidden effects to items on this game? I've been curious... I decided to test something with a four leaf clover item and did a 1 to 2 hour trip at a monster and got no edoylerite crystals... then I did it for 1 to 2 hours with a four leaf clover equip and got 2 crystals nearly back to back.

The assumption that a four-leaf clover directly influences your drop rate for edoylerite crystals is flawed for several reasons.
First, a small sample size. The short duration of your tests (1-2 hours each) is very limiting. Randomness and natural variability in drop rates can lead to misleading results. It's possible to have a dry streak in one session and a lucky streak in another purely by chance. To draw reliable conclusions, a much larger sample size is necessary. Multiple tests over extended periods would be required to reduce the impact of randomness.
Second, something called confirmation bias. Knowing you equipped the four-leaf clover might have made you more attentive to drops when it was equipped. This expectation can lead to noticing and remembering positive results (getting crystals) more than negative results (not getting crystals).
Third, consistency of your test. Use the number of monsters killed instead of time spent killing monsters, to account for player behavior and different farming methods (active, inactive, double hitting method).
Fourth, of course, the likelihood of a specific item drop increases with the amount of mobs killed. The second session was influenced by the first.
