There are two types of mining.
Powermining and load mining.
Powermining means you delete the ore, keep the uncut gems, and continously mine.
The best thing to powermine for leveling is kaolinite clay.
Load mining means you bank all materials that you collect.
The iron pickaxe can mine anything but veins (bought at blacksmith)
The steel pickaxe can mine veins (crafted)
The spade is used to mine sand (sold at dorpat outpost)
The spade is a useful tool for mining sand and mining the "Drowned beast"
The Drowned Beast is in rakblood to the north and it is not a monster but an object node much like a vein or an ore spot.
You can get beast fangs, vampire fangs and orc fangs from the drowned beast.
You need 128 combat to walk past all mobs associated in the area but 112 would do fine as well.
The last thing a spade is useful for is mining bones in Broceliande Forest.
The location is down past the rock golems, past the ice elementals near the grave keepers and undead paladins
You can get the following from "mining" bones:
bones, Human bones, beast bones, dwarf bones, skull.
To your left is the "noob" dungeon in dorpat (it's the ladder leading downward)
where a lot of lower tier things are that you can begin to mine.
It includes copper, tin, and clay.
The best way for someone to level their mining at a low level is mining sand in reval or mining in dungeon 1 in the town of dorpat.
To the right of dorpat is a ladder that goes down into dungeon 1 (I call it a skeleton lair because there are some as you enter it)
To the left in that dungeon is iron
You need 56 combat to walk past the skeletons safely.
To get to reval without a teleport is to follow your map in the top left.
Click the map, and look to the top left. That signpost in that area leads to reval.
The best spot for sand in reval is to the left of the town.
Firestone has 3 direct routes that I know of.
No mans land which is not a safe route
Hell which is a bit of a long route but requires 135 combat to be efficient
The 3rd is in dragon's lair and requires a mining party to be efficient
azurite has quite a few routes
the best 2 I know of are in no mans land which is a safe route
and the other is in hell which the one in hell requires 135 mining to be more efficient
There is a spot for azurite in lost woods and it is far away and I do not recommend mining there.
white gold has 2 specific routes that are useful to know
The first is in rakblood which is quite a ways away from the chest near the golem maze
the other is in heaven to the right of the chest which requires higher combat level and needs 179 combat tto walk past them.
The Jewelry Guild has the following in it:
Silver
Gold
Coal
Iron
Clay
Tin
Kaolinite Clay
Devil's Triangle (Always bring a teleport)
Iron and copper
Down, up (DU)
Gold vein also has silver vein
Down, up, down, up (DUDU)
Azurite (60 to mine)
up, down, up, up, down, down (UDUUDD)
Summoned skulls here. mine elsewhere for azure.
If you get to this spot where it's summoned skulls and azurite vein, go down to bring you back to the beginning of devil's triangle
redhodium (90 to mine)
down down up down down for 150 combat to get past mobs (DDUDD)
down up down down down up for 130 combat to get past mobs (DUDDDU)
As well there are dragon's blood trees in the area of the redhodium in devil's triangle
If you get in the area where the blizzard altar is, go right to bring yourself to dragon's blood trees and redhodium.
Platinum vein (75 to mine)
down up up up down to get to the platinum vein safely (DUUUD)
dragonstone (110 to mine)
down, down, up, down, up, down (DDUDUD)
Has rock golems but is a safe area to mine it
This concludes Devil's Triangle Routes.
There is a route from dorpat to dragonstone and it's a vein.
You start in dorpat and go north to the minotuars then go down the ladder into dungeon 1.
Go right until you are at the king ruby dragons past the cursed dragons and efreets.
Go down the ladder and go to the left down the next ladder you see.
There are mutated knights there in dungeon 3 that require 118 combat to walk past and they "guard" the dragonstone vein.
You can get Hade's permissions there.
To get to wittensten you must travel through Brocaliande Forest.
Edoylerite (120 to mine)
In Wittensten south west of town near void dragons.
Abelsonite
There is only one route for abelsonite and it is in dungeon 4 and it is the toughest route in the game to go on.
You HAVE to have a strong setup and food to do each trip as well as food with you.
It is 135 mining to mine without a potion.
As I uncover more routes in other areas I will add to this but this is the gist of what I know about mining on RPG MO.
I hope this helps. Enjoy
