Chat Rules [deprecated]
Re: Chat Rules
Update on punishments due to todays happenings:
People who are constantly not following rules and have been warned multiple times for not doing so will be muted without a warning next time. Mute evaders will be banned.
Let's keep EN channel clean!

Re: Chat Rules
Update on rule number 12:
12. No mute evasions.
Don't bring in an alt to ask or whine about being muted on other character. And don't violate a rule and log off immediately after to avoid getting muted.
Violators will be muted on their next log in. And repeat offenders can be banned.

Re: Chat Rules
While grandfathering players completely understandable I would suggest speaking to those players about keeping chat on that character to the 18+ channel. In a way, it's a win for everyone. Newer players can't complain about seeing an offensive name when they can't say the name or have a similar name and the player still gets to keep their account. note: this would only apply to those who were grandfathered in and it's only a suggestion to lower possible issues with newer players.Dendrek wrote:Additional Rules and Expectations
- You will be asked to change offensive names you make and will be kicked from the server. Any name that contains or implies cursing, sex, bigotry, drugs, harassment or anything similar will not be condoned.
- Players who continue to create offensive names after being warned will be banned.
- This rule is not retroactive. A player who was created long before this rule was put in place will not be forced to change their name.

Re: Chat Rules
As good as that sounds you have the issue that the person cant speak to new players, nor offer his assistance if someone asks a question in EN. Also if you encounter the person ingame their name will still appear if you scroll over themmacavele wrote:While grandfathering players completely understandable I would suggest speaking to those players about keeping chat on that character to the 18+ channel. Re: Chat Rules
And theres also the issue of their login, which is visible to all players, so its best to just not make names that are inappropriatemacavele wrote:While grandfathering players completely understandable I would suggest speaking to those players about keeping chat on that character to the 18+ channel. Re: Chat Rules
New addition to rules:
No sexting allowed, not even in whisper. Due to the fact that sexting is illegal when involving minors, it is not allowed in game. You never know if the person on the other end of the computer is of legal age or not. Even in places where there are no specific laws against sexting with minors, the offenders can be punished by child pornography laws. If someone sexts you in whisper, please report to active mod or admin so that we can keep the game legal and active.

Re: Chat Rules
I was muted for one hour for discussing politics in chat (not against rules). No warning was given and the person who did the mute is ohhpaigey. Can this person be given a proper introduction to chat rules before abusing their power further?
Re: Chat Rules
You were muted for 1 hour because you were attempting to bait people with your trolling non sense multiple times before anybody actually responded. You were warned once in ST chat, then you moved to EN chat and told everybody to come join ST chat to talk about politics, people then told you to stop and that they weren't playing RPG MO to read a troll attempt to stir up drama. So you were muted.lildudespider wrote:I was muted for one hour for discussing politics in chat (not against rules). No warning was given and the person who did the mute is ohhpaigey. Also the game owner has access to chat logs you know, it's not difficult to check and see when you got a warning and how you continued to type in chat after that warning, and how many players were fed up with you. Please don't lie and waste peoples time.
Now if you want to have a civil conversation about politics, take it to one of the other EN channels 2-9. ST and EN is not the place to be trying to troll. Here's a list of the rules that you broke in chat:
7. No spam. Definitions of spam:
Sending the same message over and over again.
Pointless messages meant to annoy others.
Random, meaningless messages.
8. No trolling. Definitions of trolling:
Deliberately provoking another player via cynical or sarcastic remarks.
Baiting others to send an angry or offensive response to you.
It is up to a moderator to decide what other behavior is considered trolling.
11. Use common sense, think before you speak.
If you are about to say something that you would not want to be said to you, it's a good idea to keep that thought to yourself.
13. It is up to the staff member(s) that is/are online at the time what the consequence is for the offense.
Standard consequences are as follows (but can change depending on the severity of the situation):
First time offense gets a warning.
Repeated offense after ignoring warning will be muted. Mutes can last up to an hour or 1 week.
Habitual offenders can be auto muted, permamuted, or banned without warning, especially if you very well know the chat rules and choose to break them anyway.

Certainly, in the way that you won't be asked to move it somewhere else. But on the other hand you cannot turn away other players, not part of your guild, from the chat.grants8 wrote:indeed. is it allowed if i keep my guild chat in en2?
