FWB Rules of Conduct

Guild Rules
Code of Honour wrote:Ask not what your guild can do for you, but help build a better community of which you are proud to be a part of. ~ An7hraX

Rule #1: Being a member of FWB makes you a foreign diplomat. Your behavior toward outsiders reflects on your brothers, do not shame any of them by acting innapropriately.

Rule #2: All items that members posses are considered lendable. However the receiver is expected to leave collateral, if the owner of the item chooses to ask for it.

Rule #3: Guild discount means you sell items to guildies at a lower price than your current market value.

Rule #4: You must NOT use your guild discount to resell items on the market for profit.

Rule #5: No fighting in public chat with other guild members.

Rule #6: In FWB, we first and foremost help each other. We are building a strong, loyal community together. Being a part of us means you shouldn't expect to become the richest person in the game.

Rule #7: We are a democracy. All new applicants must be voted in by the members with a majority.

Rule #8: There is a council to address initial, foreign and immediate concerns. Their decision and the topics will be made transparent to the whole guild within 2 days.

Rule #9: All council positions are term based and are elected by the guild members themselves. The office term lasts for 2 weeks.

Rule #10: Disagreeing with members is welcomed, however enter every debate with an open mind and the opportunity to have your opinion changed.

Rule #11: Every guild member can appoint a proxy (another member to vote on their behalf, in their absence). This proxy must be posted here on the forums, for everyone to know and see.

Rule #12: Any breaking of the rules will result in a warning initially. Repeat offenses will be dealt with via a council discussion.

Rule #13: There is to be no undercutting on the market of fellow guild members or specified allies of the guild who have trade agreements with us.

Rule #14: Any member who is inactive for a period of more than 1 week without explanation or notifiying the head of the guild (such as when real life interferes, losing internet access, going on vacation, etc) will be demoted to a temporary standing known as "FWB Inactive Veterans." They may remain on the inactive roster and return at any point. However, they must be active for 1 week after returning in order to be reinstated to the main guild roster.

Development of FWB and expansion of the guild hall

Postby chrismix26 » Thu Dec 11, 2014 11:31 pm

FWB was founded in late October of 2014 by chrismix26 and 0rdinance. They entered an agreement where Chris would grow large amounts of fabrics for spells, and 0rd, with his superior magic, would do spell altar runs. They split all the profits 50/50 in the beginning, minus the seed costs. Nobody was producing blast spells on the market at that time, so it was extremely profitable for both of them. They began sharing items with each other in order to help level themselves up. Upon hearing of this profitable partnership, doodstamper9000 joined the mix, offering his alchemy services. Everyone would provide materials for his alchemy leveling, and they'd get free potions in return. It was a give/give situation. Blackmagickman, who was friends with Chris at the time, heard of all this partnering and wanted in as well.
At about this point, the idea for formalizing a guild came up. Everything was free between members, within reason. Chris began construction of a rather crude guild hall to show the commitment to the cause.

Not long after, people had recommendations for new members to join in. One particular person was An7hrax who was extremely interested in writing bylaws for the guild. Working with Chris, they wrote the list of rules and started the democracy that exists today. (This is the first unofficial roster of the fast expanding guild. Dood had taken a leave at this point)

Once the rules were established, An7 quit to focus on real life issues, leaving behind the blueprint of FWB member conduct.

As more members applied, decisions concerning the direction of the guild became more difficult. A voting system was established in which each member would be able to confidentially vote on key changes, including new members. A Council was established to determine higher decisions. (After the Council started, it was difficult to choose between a guild hall or a council member area. This was the early council draft)

Later on, the council area and guild hall merged into one. (Top row starting from left: Blackmagickman, Rube666, Insanity7, Me1, Censor approved?, 0rdinance, chrismix26. Bottom row starting from left: Toramancik, Arkkxr, Kingjojo, Paul44239, Dracolyca.)

The current guild hall now contains a dueling arena, two post-duel recovery rooms, the meeting hall, a voting room, and a hall of heroes (under construction), as well as 2 areas only accessible by Council members.

The idea to change the name came up when An7 and I were discussing the rules. We'll probably end up changing it if it can be misinterpreted as offensive. Don't want to cause any unnecessary drama.

And I finally finished our promo video. FWB had really already grown on me, so I just switched the acronym around. I had a vote within the guild for a name change, and the majority voted for just changing FWB to stand for something else. Anyway, here's the promo video:

0rd, it seems we've started a trend. And I don't think "Best guild" was a stretch considering what we've done to help grow the community. It certainly beats the monopolizing of the market, the trolling of new people in town (which effectively causes them to leave the game and never come back), and consistently harrassing us for trying to make the game more enjoyable. But I don't expect them to understand how their actions effect the entire community since all they care about is ripping people off.

This post is not trolling. I am merely making accurate observations of their actions.
